March 1st club meeting: Senator Hank Brown
Senator Hank Brown will be the guest speaker at our weekly Golden Rotary meeting.
A Denver native, he earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Colorado. He is a decorated Navy veteran after distinguished service as a forward air controller in Vietnam, awarded the Air Medal with three Gold Stars. He was Vice President of International Operations for Monfort of Colorado from 1969 to 1980. First serving in the Colorado Senate, he then represented Colorado’s 4th congressional district for five terms before being elected to the US Senate in 1991.
While serving in Congress, in 1986 he earned a Master of Laws degree in taxation from George Washington University. He has worked as an attorney and CPA. After returning to Colorado in 1996, he entered the educational sector, leading three universities as president, including his alma mater.
He is a past president and current board member of the Daniels Fund. Fittingly, in 2008 Senator Brown was honored by the National Western Stock Show as the Citizen of the West.
Certainly, Senator Brown epitomizes Rotary principles of service above self. He will speak on current events.
