To educate Rotary members about international issues, we periodically schedule speakers addressing topics such as: Kenya clean water and community development;Shelter Box program that provides disaster assistance to areas around the worldPeace and conflict resolution

The Rotary Club of Golden financially assists international projects led by other Rotary Clubs or other non-profit groups. Sometimes the District provides matching funds. The Rotary Club of Golden initiated a program with the Colorado School of Mines that pairs Golden Rotarians with Mines international students. The goals of the program are to make students feel more comfortable in the community and to provide a conduit for both Rotarians and students to understand each other’s culture.

The Rotary Club of Golden purchases a Shelter Box every year and is committed to long-term support. Golden Rotary was the lead international sponsor of a global grant to provide hearing aids and batteries for a school for hearing aid impaired children in Pisco, Peru.

Golden Rotary led a Rotary District grant to send 17 girls in South Sudan to school. South Sudan has a long history of war, but is currently enjoying a fragile peace.
