The Rotary Club of Golden purchases a Shelter Box every year and is committed to long-term support.
Shelter Box is a worldwide program that provides assistance to areas around the world that have experienced a disaster. It was started by a Rotary Club in Cornwall, England and provides boxes of survival supplies to areas experiencing a natural disaster or other problems like a refugee crisis.
Each box contains enough supplies for a family to survive for approximately one month.
This past year, Golden Rotary sponsored Brittney Woodrum who climbed all of the fourteen thousand peaks in Colorado to raise money for Shelter Box.
Golden Rotary has made a long-term commitment to support Shelter Box and as such is considered a “hero” program.
